Do Implants require special care?

Once the implants are in place, they will serve you well for many years if you take care of them and keep your mouth healthy. Since the health of the interface between the bone and the implant is important for long term success it is important to make sure you see your dentist regularly to evaluate the health and stability of your implant. Usually this examination coincides with your visit to your dental hygienist. Along with periodic visits to your dentist, taking the time for good oral hygiene (brushing and flossing) increases the longevity of your implant(s).
